Rotations
Rotations · Echo · Quick Reference
A reference, never a protocol. The thresholds below are published teaching values framed for recall at the machine — they are not read in isolation and they are not autonomous triggers, and they stay marked as teaching ranges until echo faculty verify them. No local reporting wording, contrast protocol or sedation order appears here, because those are institutional and have to come from the lab.
Read live from the active version, by effective date.
Fellows are expected to reach Level I within the first two years.
Fellows are expected to reach Level II during fellowship. Level III is a conversation with the Echo Lab Director.
100 TEEs are strongly recommended, though 50 is the stated minimum.
The program’s own expectation, not a COCATS number.
Read with the gradient and the flow state — a small valve area at low flow is not the same finding.
Flow dependent. A normal gradient with a small area raises the question of low-flow disease.
Alignment matters. An underestimate here underestimates the whole study.
Published guideline thresholds, as stated in the program’s Echo Work Guide specification — teaching values, not a local protocol, and not yet reviewed by echo faculty
Recognize, then escalate.
Allowed and encouraged, for the additional exposure.
The echo lab’s own number, and how the reader of the day is reached to arrange reading.
