Rotations

Cath

Rotations · Cath · Quick Reference

A reference, never a protocol. The pressures, formulas and ranges below are general teaching values framed for recall in the lab — they are not autonomous treatment triggers, and §11 asks that they stay marked as teaching ranges until cath faculty verify them. No local ACT, heparin, TR Band or medication protocol appears here, because those are institutional and have to come from pharmacy and from the lab.

Normal pressures

RA2–6 mmHg

Right-sided filling pressure. Read with ventilation, TR and RV function.

RV15–30 / 2–8 mmHg

Systolic, and the end-diastolic pressure.

PA15–30 / 8–15 mmHg

Systolic, diastolic, mean, and the waveform morphology.

PCWP6–12 mmHg

Estimates left atrial pressure. Confirm a true wedge and measure at end expiration.

General teaching ranges — §11 asks that these be marked as such and verified by cath faculty

Cardiac output / index

COHR × SV

Thermodilution or Fick — know which one the number came from.

CICO / BSA

Typical teaching range 2.5–4.0 L/min/m². A trend beats any single value.

General teaching ranges — §11 asks that these be marked as such and verified by cath faculty

SVR / PVR

SVR80 × (MAP − RA) / CO

Distinguishes vasodilatory from vasoconstricted physiology.

PVR(mPAP − PCWP) / CO

Expressed in Wood units. Interpret with mPAP, PCWP and CO together.

Logins

What UTKardio will and will not hold.

  • Cerner is an individual clinical login. UTKardio does not store a fellow’s Cerner password and never will.
  • UConcall carries schedules and inpatient and procedure billing. No shared credential was supplied, and none should be.
  • Any future shared credential lives server-side in restricted resources, behind the same permission check as a door code — see the rule in AGENTS.md.
