Today in the lab

  • Stay with one attending and one room for the day where the schedule allows.
Need details

The live cath board: room assignments, the first case time, and add-on or urgent cases. UTKardio holds no feed from the lab board, so none of it can be shown here until there is one.

First day in the lab

  • The cath lab is on the 2nd floor — learn the secure entry process.
  • Get fitted for lead. The techs are key operational partners.
  • Confirm access to the cath reporting and documentation systems and to the procedure log.
  • Learn where the radial and femoral supplies, ultrasound, sheaths, catheters and hemostasis devices are stored.
  • Read the current attendings and their preference profiles.

Escalate immediately

  • Coronary dissection or perforation
  • Shock
  • Tamponade
  • Stroke
  • Arrhythmia
  • Access-site hemorrhage

Still needed from the program

Listed rather than guessed. These are the facts this page cannot answer.

  • The weekHow a Cath week actually runs: which days differ, weekend coverage, and whether the rotation holds any call. The specification states the day — report at 7 when cases begin at 7, traditionally finishing around 5 — and nothing about the week, so no coverage chart is drawn.
  • Cath boardThe live cath board: room assignments, the first case time, and add-on or urgent cases. There is no feed from the lab board, and §13 names the inventory or board system as NEED DETAILS.
  • Charge RNHow the charge RN is reached, and whether the role is published anywhere a schedule could read. §13 asks for it on the Overview; no source UTKardio holds carries it.
  • Cath directorThe current Cath rotation director, if it is not the value in the 2026 orientation material. §16 names Dr R. Baljepally from that material; it is not written here because a rotation director is a role the program owns rather than a fact this file should assert.
  • Door codeThe Cath Lab door code. The door is registered and no digits have been entered — the readout says so rather than showing a mask. Entered with npm run db:access-code, never committed.
